Petco's vaccination protocol
As Petco adoption partners, it is important for you to know and adhere to Petco’s vaccination requirements for animals adopted through our partnership. These requirements are in place to protect the animals up for adoption as well as the public’s health and safety. Vaccinations are an excellent way to assist in preventing the spread of common diseases.
At Petco, we require all dogs, cats and ferrets at our adoption events to be current on their vaccinations. Vaccination records for all dogs, cats and ferrets brought into a Petco store need to be shown to the Petco manager on duty or the designated adoption captain upon entering the store. Dogs, cats and ferrets not having documentation of receiving the required age-appropriate vaccinations will not be allowed to stay for the adoption event and must be removed from the store.
It is against Petco policy to administer vaccinations, de-wormers or other medication to animals up for adoption. Needles and syringes are not allowed on Petco property.
The following are Petco vaccination requirements. Any additional vaccination requirements from your state, city or county must also be adhered to, documented and presented to the Petco management.
